Untuk mendapatkan piala di kategori bergengsi itu dari Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films, 'Interstellar' mengalahkan "Edge of Tomorrow", "Godzilla" dan "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1" . Christopher Nolan dan Jonathan Nolan juga diganjar penghargaan untuk kategori penulisan film terbaik.
"'Interstellar' adalah cerita seorang pria yang melakukan perjalanan sulit, dan kembali 100 tahun kemudian untuk menemukan fakta bahwa tak ada seorang pun yang peduli dengan apa yang dia lakukan," kata Jonathan Nolan dalam pidato kemenangannya akhir pekan kemarin.
