'Top of the World' merupakan lagu tahun 1972 yang dinyanyikan oleh dua bersaudara Richard Carpenter dan Karen. Lagu ini merupakan original soundtrack Shrek 4 bertajuk Forever After. Lagu Top of The World sempat masuk nomor 1 Billboard Hot 100 selama dua minggu berturut-turut pada tahun 1973.
Selain Shrek, 'Top of The World' digunakan sebagai lagu pembuka untuk drama Jepang Miseinen pada 1995. Pada tahun 2003, drama Beginner, menjadikan Top of The World sebagai lagu penutup.
Kembali ke Carpenters, grup musik ini sangat populer di Amerika Serikat pada masanya. Lagu mereka yang juga populer yakni 'Close To You'. Grup ini bubar setelah Karen meninggal di usia 32 pada tahun 1983.
