Ajang penghargaan untuk musisi-musisi Korea Selatan kembali digelar. Kali ini Gaon Chart Music Awards ke-11 digelar pada 27 Januari dan dipandu oleh JaeJAe, Sieun STAYC, dan Doyoung NCT.
Pemenang Gaon Chart Music Awards ditentukan berdasarkan performa lagu dan album di Gaon Music Chart. Sementara Artist of the Year dibagi dalam kategori musik dan album fisik.
Penghargaan diberikan kepada lagu dengan jumlah unduhan dan streaming tertinggi untuk setiap bulannya dari Desember 2020 hingga November 2021. Penghargaan album fisik diberikan kepada album dengan penjualan tertinggi untuk setiap kuartal selama periode yang sama.
