Penyanyi Whitney Houston Meninggal Dunia

Jakarta - Dunia tarik suara kehilangan salah satu insan terbaiknya. Whitney Houston meninggal dunia di usia ke-48 pada Sabtu (11/2/2012) waktu Amerika Serikat.
Kabar mengejutkan tersebut disampaikan juru bicara Whitney, Kristin Foster pada Associated Press. Namun ia tidak mengungkapkan penyebab meninggalnya Whitney.
Selama beberapa tahun belakangan, ia dikabarkan berjuang melawan kebiasaannya menggunakan obat-obatan terlarang. Pelantun 'I Will Alweays Love You' itu sempat masuk rehabilitasi pada pertengahan 2011 lalu.
Pada 2009, dalam satu kesempatan, Whitney pernah membeberkan jika dirinya memang pecandu kokain. Setelah membintangi film 'The Bodyguard', Whitney seperti orang yang kehilangan kendali.
Whitney menelurkan album perdananya pada 1985 silam, dan terjual sebanyak 25 juta kopi. Hingga saat ini, ia telah membuat tujuh album dan tiga buah lagu soundtrack.
Berbagai macam penghargaan bergengsi telah diterima Whitney. Ia memenangkan 6 Grammy Awards, 30 Billboard Awards, 22 American Music Awards, dan dua Emmy Awards.
