"Terima Kasih HBO, karena Percaya dengan Naga!" kata Executive Producer David Benioff saat penerima piala Emmy Awards untuk 'Game of Thrones' (GoT). Emilia Clarke sang Mother of Dragons memang tak menang, tapi GoT berhasil memboyong selusin piala.
'Game of Thrones' untuk pertama kalinya meraih penghargaan bergengsi Outstanding Drama Series di Emmy Awards. Serial ini mengalahkan "Better Call Saul" (AMC), "Downton Abbey" (PBS), "Homeland" (Showtime), "House of Cards" (Netflix), "Mad Men" (AMC) dan "Orange Is the New Black" (Netflix).
Separuh dari 24 nominasi yang didapatkan 'Game of Thrones' berhasil dimenangkan. Kategori yang berhasil dikuasai berasal dari spesial efek, penyutradaraan, penulisan skenario, sound editing, hingga stunt coordinator dan casting. Sedangkan bagi HBO, total mendapat 43 piala di Emmy Awards.
