Usai merilis Butter, BTS kembali mencetak prestasi setelah lagu tersebut berhasil memuncaki tangga lagu Billboards Hot 100. Mereka pun mengumumkan hal tersebut pada 1 Juni di mana Butter masuk dalam charts dan langsung menempati posisi puncak.

Butter menjadi lagu keempat BTS yang berhasil menempati posisi pertama di Billboard Hot 100. Sebelumnya, posisi tersebut berhasil diraih dengan Dynamite, Savage Love (Laxed-Siren Beat) yang merupakan kolaborasi dengan Jawsh 685 dan Jason Derulo, juga single Korea mereka, Life Goes On.

BTS pun resmi menjadi grup yang debut di posisi pertama chart Billboard Hot 100 dengan 3 lagu. Selain BTS, artis yang pernah debut di posisi pertama chart tersebut lebih dari 3 lagu adalah Ariana Grande (5), Justin Bieber (4), dan Drake (4).

Selain itu Butter juga memuncaki tangga lagu Global 200 dan Global Excl. US di Billboard. Dua chart tersebut ditentukan berdasarkan data streaming dan penjualan di 200 wilayah.
