Album Terbaik Tahun Ini, U2!

Jakarta - Di ajang 48th Grammy Awards yang diselenggarakan di Staples Center, Los Angeles, Rabu (8/2/2006) malam waktu setempat, U2 dinominasikan di lima kategori. Yaitu Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group, Best Rock Song dan Best Rock Album. Hebatnya, band yang dikomandoi Bono ini berhasil memenangkan seluruhnya. Jika U2 bisa tersenyum lebar, tidak demikian dengan Gwen Stefani. Wanita yang tengah hamil ini sebenarnya juga dinominasikan di lima kategori. Antara lain Record of the Year, Album of the Year dan Best Pop Vocal Performance. Malangnya, Gwen tidak bisa membawa pulang satu piala pun. Mariah Carey yang mendapat delapan nominasi ternyata hanya memenangkan tiga. Yaitu Best Female R&B Vocal Performance, Best R&B Song dan Best Contemporary R&B Album. Demikian seperti detikhot lansir dari situs resmi Grammy, Kamis (9/2/2006). John Legend, pelantun 'Ordinary People', selain dinobatkan sebagai Pendatang Baru Terbaik, juga dianugerahi piala untuk kategori Best Male R&B Vocal Performance dan Best R&B Album.
