Ajang penghargaan musik rutin milik Billboard, Billboard Music Awards 2016 kembali digelar tahun ini. Acaranya berlangsung di T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, Amerika Serikat, Minggu (22/5) waktu setempat.
Ada 46 kategori yang menggambarkan tren musik terkini di dunia. Dan, di tahun ke-24, musisi dengan raihan trofi terbanyak jatuh kepada The Weeknd.
Solois R&B bernama asli Abęl Makkonen Tesfaye itu sukses memboyong delapan piala. Sekaligus mengukuhkan namanya sebagai musisi R&B terfavorit tahun ini versi Billboard. The Weeknd memenangkan tiga kategori R&B, 'Top R&B Album', 'Top R&B Artist' dan 'Top R&B Song'. Ditambah lagi, Top Streaming Songs Artist', 'Top Song Sales Artist', 'Top Hot 100 Artist', 'Top Radio Songs Artist' dan 'Top Streaming Song (Audio)'.
