Lil Wayne-Coldplay Bersaing di Nominasi Grammy 2009

Los Angeles - Untuk ke-51 kalinya, acara penyerahan Grammy Awards akan digelar. Lil Wayne dan Coldplay bersaing meraih nominasi terbanyak dalam Grammy 2009 tersebut.

Lil Wayne berjaya dengan album 'Tha Carter III' yang juga dinominasikan sebagai Album Of The Year. Album ini terbilang laris manis. Di minggu pertama penjualannya saja. Lil Wayne telah mencetak angka 1 juta kopi di Amerika.

Sementara 'Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends', album milik Coldplay meraih nominasi Record Of The Year. Sebelumnya band yang digawangi Chris Martin itu telah meraih 5 penghargaan Grammy termasuk Record Of the Year di 2004. Demikian dikutip detikhot dari EntertainmentWeekly, Kamis (4/12/2008).

Jay-Z, Ne-Yo dan Kanye West bersaing dengan masing-masing mengantongi 6 nominasi. Grammy 2009 akan digelar 8 Februari mendatang di Los Angeles. Radiohead yang telah meraih 2 Grammy sebelumnya, kali ini menerima 5 nominasi.
