Pangeran William dan Kate Middleton Resmi Jadi Suami-Istri

Jakarta - Kate Middleton resmi menyandang status sebagai istri dari Pangeran William. Kate menerima ikrar sehidup semati dengan William.

Upacara pemberkatan pernikahan Kate dan William digelar di Westminster Abbey, London di hadapan 2 ribu tamu undangan. William yang mengenakan seragam Colonel of the Irish Guard berwarna merah. Sementara Kate memakai gaun putih dengan train atau buntut yang cukup panjang. Wajahnya juga ditutupi oleh veil.

Uskup Agung langsung memulai pembacaan ikrar pernikahan setelah doa-doa dilantunkan para undangan.

Uskup Agung kepada William:

William Arthur Philip Louis, wilt thou have this woman to thy wedded wife, to live together according to God’s law in the holy estate of Matrimony? Wilt thou love her, comfort her, honour and keep her, in sickness and in health? And, forsaking all other, keep thee unto her, so long as ye both shall live?

William:

I will.

Uskup Agung kepada Kate:

Catherine Elizabeth, wilt thou have this man to thy wedded husband, to live together according to God’s law in the holy esate of Matrimony? Wilt thou love him, comfort him, honour and keep him, in sickness and in health? And, forsaking all other, keep thee only unto him, so long as ye both shall live?

Kate:

I will.

Uskup Agung bertanya:

Who giveth this woman to be married to this man?

Uskup Agung menerima Kate dari sang ayah. Pangeran William lalu mengambil tangan kanan Kate dan menirukan Uskup Agung ucapannya:

I, William Arthur Philip Louis, take thee, Catherine Elizabeth, to my wedded wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse; for richer, for poorer; in sickness and in health; to love and to cherish, till death us do part, according to God’s holy law; and thereto I give thee my troth.

Keduanya melepaskan tangan. Kate mengambil tangan kanan William dan menirukan Uskup Agung:

I, Catherine Elizabeth, take thee, William Arthur Philip Louis, to my wedded husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse; for richer, for poorer; in sickness and in health; to love and to cherish, till death us do part, according to God’s holy law; and thereto I give thee my troth.

Keduanya saling melepaskan tangan dan Uskup Agung memberkati cincin mereka. William lalu menyematkan cincin di jari manis Kate.
